Sunscreen Lotion
A low-viscosity emulsion built for the reapplication habit — light enough that people actually use it as often as they should.
The commercial failure mode of sunscreen is not usually the SPF number. It is that the product is unpleasant enough that nobody reapplies it. Lotion exists to solve that, and mineral systems make the problem harder.
A fluid emulsion gives the dispersant more room to work. Lower oil phase, higher water phase, and a carefully chosen rheology modifier let a mineral system stay pourable instead of settling into a cream.
We are developing this format around the sensory target first and the protection target second — because a product with excellent measured protection and poor compliance protects nobody.
What governs this format
- Viscosity target
- Set by delivery format: pump, tube, or bottle
- Rub-in behaviour
- Governed by particle dispersion quality, not by particle size alone
- Water resistance
- Requires a film former that survives the emulsifier system
- Stability
- Fluid emulsions separate faster; accelerated testing is non-negotiable
Specific values — viscosity, filter loading, protection level — are set per project against the brief. We do not publish figures we have not measured on your formulation.
Typically developed for
- Face and neck daily use
- Sport and outdoor ranges
- Large-format body products
- Kids ranges
