Formulation development
The formula is built against your brief, not pulled from a list.
A brief starts with a market position and a sensory expectation, not a protection number. Who is the user, how do they apply, what do they hate about sunscreen, what does the pack cost. Those answers determine the emulsion type, the emollient system, and the filter loading long before the first trial.
Development then runs as iterations against that brief. Mineral systems are unforgiving: the point where the filter concentration reaches the protection target is often the point where the texture collapses. Finding the intersection where both hold is the work.
